Iranian Red Crescent Reports Nearly 800 Deaths Amid Ongoing Strikes
Iranian Red Crescent reports 787 dead in 1,000+ attacks across 153 cities amid ongoing strikes.
The Iranian Red Crescent reported on Tuesday that more than 780 people have been killed across Iran since the start of US and Israeli strikes on the country. According to the organisation’s website, operational teams have documented 787 fatalities and said that attacks have targeted 153 cities and more than 500 sites in over 1,000 separate strikes since Saturday. AFP was not able to independently verify these figures.
The Red Crescent described the casualties as “martyred compatriots” and provided the toll in the context of ongoing hostilities that have affected numerous urban and industrial areas. The organisation did not provide a breakdown of civilian versus military casualties.
In addition to the reported nationwide toll, loud explosions were heard in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday, according to AFP journalists on the ground. Iranian media outlets also reported blasts in Karaj, located west of Tehran, and in the central city of Isfahan.

These strikes form part of an ongoing military escalation in the region, following a coordinated offensive by the United States and Israel targeting Iranian strategic and military sites. The attacks have reportedly been accompanied by missile and drone strikes affecting multiple cities, infrastructure hubs, and military installations.
The Iranian government has not independently verified the casualty figures provided by the Red Crescent, and international observers are closely monitoring developments. Residents in affected areas have reported damage to infrastructure and heightened security measures as authorities respond to the ongoing attacks.
The situation has prompted widespread concern about civilian safety, regional stability, and the potential for further escalation, as both humanitarian and strategic impacts continue to unfold across the country.
