Instamart Adds 10-Minute LPG Cylinder Delivery To Quick-Commerce Platform
Instamart expands services with rapid LPG cylinder delivery.
Quick commerce platform Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to launch an on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service, allowing customers to receive cooking gas cylinders in as little as 10 minutes. The service marks the entry of LPG delivery into the quick commerce space, expanding beyond the traditional categories of groceries, medicines, electronics and daily essentials that are commonly delivered through such platforms.
The new service introduces HPCL’s HP Navya 10 kg composite LPG cylinder, which has been designed for modern households and urban consumers. The lightweight cylinder is easier to handle compared with conventional metal cylinders and comes with features such as rust resistance and enhanced safety measures. One of its key features is a transparent body that allows users to check the remaining gas level without having to estimate when a refill may be required.
The service is being introduced initially in Bengaluru, where customers can order either the 10 kg HP Navya composite cylinder or the 5 kg metal LPG cylinder through the Instamart app. The partnership aims to provide faster access to cooking gas, particularly for consumers who may need an immediate replacement cylinder during emergencies. Orders will be processed through HPCL-authorised distributors and delivered by trained personnel following required safety standards.

Unlike traditional domestic LPG booking systems that generally require an existing household connection, the new service allows a wider range of consumers to purchase cylinders. Students, tenants, young professionals and smaller households without a regular LPG connection can also place orders after completing the required identity verification process. For repeat customers, empty HPCL cylinders can be exchanged during refill deliveries.
The ordering process has been designed to work similarly to other quick commerce purchases. Customers can select their preferred cylinder through the Instamart application, add it to their cart and complete the purchase. New buyers will receive a fresh cylinder after verification, while existing users can return their empty cylinder during the next delivery.
The launch represents a significant expansion of quick commerce into a highly regulated and essential household category. As demand for faster and more convenient services continues to grow in urban areas, instant LPG delivery could provide an alternative solution for consumers who face unexpected cooking gas shortages. The service is expected to expand to more locations after its initial rollout in Bengaluru.
