IndiGo Lucknow-Delhi Flight Delayed After Security Scare, Later Declared Hoax
Hoax bomb threat delays IndiGo flight, later confirmed safe.
A Lucknow–Delhi IndiGo flight carrying around 180 passengers was delayed on Friday after a suspected bomb threat triggered a full security response at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow. Authorities later confirmed that the alert was a hoax, with no explosive or harmful material found onboard the aircraft.
The flight was scheduled to depart for Delhi at 10:45 am when crew members reportedly received information about a possible bomb threat. Following standard safety protocols, the aircraft was immediately halted at the apron, and passengers were kept onboard or moved under controlled conditions while security agencies initiated a thorough inspection.
Airport security personnel, along with other relevant agencies, carried out a detailed search of the aircraft and surrounding areas as a precautionary measure. The operation was conducted to ensure passenger safety and to rule out any potential risk before allowing the aircraft to resume operations.

During the inspection, sources told PTI that a tissue paper with the word “bomb” written on it was discovered inside the aircraft’s lavatory, which initially triggered panic among the crew and security teams. However, subsequent checks confirmed that the note was not linked to any real threat and was treated as a hoax.
Officials later reiterated that no explosives or suspicious items were found anywhere on the aircraft. After completing all mandatory security procedures, authorities declared the aircraft safe. The incident caused a temporary delay in the flight schedule but did not result in any injuries or disruption beyond operational checks. The episode adds to a growing number of false alarm incidents at airports, prompting aviation authorities to maintain heightened vigilance and strict screening protocols to ensure passenger safety across domestic flights.
