India’s Youth Will Drive Viksit Bharat by 2047, Says PM Modi
Prime Minister calls on young leaders to shape Viksit Bharat future.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026 concluding session on Monday, stressing that India’s youth must lead the nation’s journey to become a developed country by 2047, the centenary of independence. He reflected on his public life, noting that many of today’s youth were not born when he became Chief Minister, yet expressed unwavering faith in their talent and energy to drive national progress.
The dialogue, held on Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary and National Youth Day, was praised by Modi as an unprecedented platform for youth participation. With over five million registrations and three million contributors to the Viksit Bharat Challenge, he lauded the innovative ideas on Women-Led Development and democratic engagement, calling them proof of the Amrit Peedhi’s strong resolve to build a prosperous India.
Modi contrasted the pre-2014 era of policy paralysis, red tape, and limited opportunities with the reforms since then. He highlighted the explosive growth of startups—from under 500 in 2014 to thousands today—fueled by Startup India, Digital India, and eased regulations, alongside openings in space, drones, and defence sectors that have empowered youth-led innovation.

He assured continued support for young entrepreneurs and creators, urging them to pursue ideas fearlessly in every sector.
Calling for self-confidence to overcome colonial-era inferiority complexes, Modi quoted Vedic wisdom—“Aano Bhadrāh Kratavo Yantu Vishwatah”—and Swami Vivekananda’s example of embracing global knowledge while cherishing Indian heritage. He encouraged the youth to stay fit, energetic, and joyful as they advance towards a self-reliant, developed India by 2047.
