Indian-Origin Texas Student Arrested for Arson and Terror Threats Against Family
Indian-origin student Manojh Lella arrested in US for arson and terroristic threat against family.
A 22-year-old Indian-origin student, Manojh Sai Lella, has been arrested in Frisco, Texas, on charges of arson and terroristic threat against family members. Lella, a senior at the University of Texas at Dallas, was taken into custody on Monday following police intervention.
Authorities were called to Lella’s home after family members reported a mental health episode and alleged threats. Police said that he allegedly attempted to set the home on fire several days prior to the arrest. Emergency responders confirmed that no one was injured during the incident.
Lella faces serious charges, including arson with intent to damage a habitat or place of worship, a first-degree felony, and terroristic threat against a family or household member, classified as a Class A misdemeanor. Officials clarified that there is no evidence of threats directed at any religious site.

The Frisco Police Department set Lella’s bond at USD 100,000 for the arson charge and USD 3,500 for the terroristic threat. Legal proceedings are expected to continue as investigators gather more information regarding the incident and the alleged threats.
University authorities have not released any statement regarding the student, but the case highlights growing concerns about mental health support for college students and the importance of timely intervention in domestic threat situations.
