The selection process will involve shortlisting candidates based on normalized academic scores, followed by the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. Final appointments will depend on performance in the SSB interview, medical examination, police verification, and the number of available vacancies. Selected candidates will first undergo a six-week Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala before proceeding to specialized professional training at designated naval establishments. Upon commissioning, officers will join the Indian Navy as sub-lieutenants with an initial short service commission tenure of 10 years. The starting basic pay for a sub-lieutenant has been fixed at Rs 56,100 per month along with applicable military allowances and benefits under the Naval Group Insurance Scheme. The Navy has advised applicants to carefully fill out the online application forms and ensure all uploaded documents are clear and accurate, warning that multiple submissions or incomplete records may lead to cancellation of candidature. Candidates have also been instructed to regularly monitor the official website for updates related to shortlisting and interview schedules.
