Indian Army’s Central Command To Hold Strategic Communication Conclave In Lucknow On Saturday

Army conclave in Lucknow to discuss strategic communication, information warfare and media’s role in modern security.

The Indian Army’s Central Command will host a strategic communication conclave in Lucknow on Saturday, bringing together experts from the military, diplomacy, media and strategic affairs communities to discuss the growing role of information in modern security environments.

The conclave, to be held at the headquarters of the Central Command, will revolve around the theme “Strategic Communication in the Emerging Information Space.” According to an official statement, the event will focus on how narratives, perception management and cognitive security are increasingly shaping the nature of contemporary conflicts and influencing national security strategies.

The programme will feature special sessions, expert talks and panel discussions, where speakers will share perspectives on narrative dominance, technology-enabled communication, information operations and the evolving role of media in shaping the strategic environment. The discussions aim to deepen understanding of how effective strategic communication contributes to mission preparedness and strengthens national security in the information age.

Several prominent figures from the fields of diplomacy, media and strategic affairs are expected to participate in the conclave. Among them are Nitin Gokhale, Ambassador Yashvardhan Sinha, Ruchira Kamboj, Lt Gen Raj Shukla (Retd), Maj Gen Chaturvedi (Retd), Snehesh Philip, Shivani Sharma, Sandeep Unnithan, Lt Gen D.P. Pandey (Retd), Shantanu Mukharji, Sharat Cander, Ambassador Dilip Sinha, Veena Jain, Pankaj Jaiswal, Mayank Singh and Manish Prasad, among others.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command, visited the headquarters of the Central Air Command in Prayagraj and held discussions with Air Marshal Balakrishnan Manikantan, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Air Command. The talks focused on strengthening operational jointness and enhancing inter-service coordination across multi-domain operations, disaster response frameworks and joint training mechanisms.

Both commanders reviewed avenues to improve integrated planning, real-time coordination and force application to maintain an operational edge in emerging security scenarios. They also reaffirmed their commitment to deeper military synergy, emphasising seamless air-land integration as a key pillar of mission readiness and national security, reflecting continued efforts by the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force to address future challenges with unity and precision.
