Exercise Drone Prahar Enhances Combat Readiness
The Indian Army conducted Exercise Drone Prahar at Rayang Military Station in Arunachal Pradesh’s East Siang district on Sunday, validating the integration of drone technology into battlefield operations. Observed by Lt Gen Abhijeet S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps, the drill showcased drones’ role in modern warfare.
The exercise, held under realistic conditions, demonstrated drones’ capabilities in intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, real-time sensor-to-shooter coordination, and precision targeting. It aimed to enhance commanders’ situational awareness and decision-making through layered surveillance. Key aspects tested included airspace deconfliction, secure communication channels, and coordination among various military units.
Exercise Drone Prahar marks a pivotal step in the Indian Army’s push to modernize, embracing emerging technologies to build a tech-enabled force. The drill underscores the Army’s focus on innovation and operational superiority to tackle future battlefield challenges effectively.
