Indian Army Displays Weapons and Capabilities at Know Your Army Event in Agartala

Indian Army's Albert Ekka Brigade holds 'Know Your Army' campaign in Agartala with weapons display and public interaction.

In a bid to strengthen civil-military engagement, the Indian Army’s Albert Ekka Brigade conducted a “Know Your Army” campaign in Agartala on January 22. The event, held at the Albert Ekka War Memorial, aimed to familiarise citizens, especially students, with the Army’s operational capabilities, ethos, and role in nation-building.

The display featured a wide range of modern weapons and military systems, with Army personnel explaining their operational significance and technical features. Visitors were able to gain hands-on knowledge about the tools and strategies used to safeguard India’s borders and maintain national security.

A key highlight of the event was an interactive session, where students and local residents engaged directly with soldiers. Attendees learned about Army training standards, career opportunities, life in service, and the discipline and dedication required to serve the nation.

The campaign drew enthusiastic participation from the public, inspiring young minds and fostering patriotism. Officials said that such outreach programs help build mutual trust and deepen the bond between the Army and the communities it protects.

The Albert Ekka Brigade, which has a distinguished history in the 1971 India-Pakistan war, relocated recently to Agartala Military Station. The Brigade is notable for earning two of the highest gallantry awards, including the Param Vir Chakra awarded posthumously to Lance Naik Albert Ekka for his bravery during the Battle of Gangasagar.

Similar initiatives have been organised by the Brigade in the past, including a weapons and equipment display at the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), aiming to motivate youth and encourage a spirit of nation-building, patriotism, and awareness of India’s defence capabilities.
