India vs Namibia: Delhi Metro Revises Routes, Timings For T20 World Cup Game

Metro services extended with revised routes to ease fan travel after India vs Namibia T20 match.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced extended metro services late into the night on February 12, 2026 to accommodate spectators attending the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match between India and Namibia at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The move is aimed at easing travel for fans leaving the venue after the evening fixture, which begins at 7 p.m. and is expected to run past the regular last-train schedule.

Under the special arrangement, train services across multiple lines will operate beyond the normal cut-off times, with extended last departures by roughly one to two hours from major terminal stations. For example, trains on the Red Line running towards New Bus Adda and Rithala will now depart around 12:10 a.m. and 12:15 a.m. respectively, while services on the Violet Line from Kashmere Gate are set to run until about 12:25 a.m. — well beyond usual timings.

Fans heading to and from Arun Jaitley Stadium are being encouraged to use the Delhi Gate and ITO metro stations, both located on the Violet Line and among the closest rail links to the stadium. The extended schedule is designed to manage the expected post-match passenger flow efficiently and provide a safer, more convenient option for late-night travel.

The extension of services comes amid broader logistical planning by city authorities for matchday operations. Delhi Police has issued traffic advisories and road restrictions in the stadium vicinity to help reduce congestion, with specific stretches of central Delhi subject to closures or diversions before and after games. Organisers have also highlighted parking arrangements and recommended that spectators avoid carrying prohibited items into the stadium.

Cricket enthusiasts are following India’s campaign closely, with the T20 World Cup fixture against Namibia forming part of the team’s Group A schedule. While on-field details remain the primary focus for fans, local transport adjustments such as the metro timing extensions underscore the event’s wider impact on urban movement and public services.
