India Unites For 12th International Yoga Day With Historic Red Road Celebration

Ministry of Ayush invites India for 12th Yoga Day celebrations.

The Ministry of Ayush has invited citizens across the country to participate in the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations on June 21, calling it a "historic celebration of health, harmony and India's timeless yoga tradition." In an official statement issued on Saturday, the ministry encouraged people from all walks of life to join the nationwide observance and practise the Common Yoga Protocol at designated venues.

According to the ministry, Yoga Day events will be organised across 23 states and Union Territories, with several special programmes planned at prominent public locations in Delhi. Participants can take part in yoga sessions at parks, sports complexes, heritage sites and community spaces across the National Capital Region, while organisations, institutions and local communities have also been urged to join the celebrations.

Union Minister of State for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav said the main event will be held at Kolkata's historic Red Road under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the occasion will bring together people from across the country to perform the Common Yoga Protocol and reinforce India's message of health, harmony and well-being through the practice of yoga.
