Imran Khan Is Alive, Says PTI Senator, Reveals Pressure to Exile Former PM

PTI senator denies rumors of Imran Khan’s death, accusing govt of isolating him for political pressure.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Khurram Zeeshan strongly denied recent rumors alleging that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was murdered in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail. Speaking to ANI, Zeeshan confirmed that Khan is very much alive but is being held in isolation by Pakistani authorities, who are using this tactic to pressure him into leaving Pakistan. The senator accused the current regime of fearing Khan's enduring popularity and deliberately restricting any communication or imagery to prevent mobilization of public support.

Rumors about Khan's demise emerged earlier this week via social media accounts based in Afghanistan, sparking widespread concern. Adding to the worries, Imran Khan’s family, lawyers, and senior PTI leadership have been barred from visiting him for nearly a month, despite court orders mandating access. Zeeshan described this as a blatant violation of human rights and said the government is employing these harsh measures in an effort to coerce Khan into accepting exile abroad, where they allegedly promise concessions in return for his silence.

According to the PTI Senator, the government’s attempts to strike a deal involve urging Khan to leave Pakistan and remain quiet about political matters. However, Zeeshan emphasized that Khan is a resolute leader who is unlikely to accept such terms. Despite his incarceration, Khan’s influence within Pakistan remains substantial, particularly among the youth. PTI continues to gain momentum, with many of its supporters motivated to uphold Khan’s political vision and values.

The ruling establishment also appears threatened by the potential symbolic power of Khan, which explains why no photographs or videos of him have been allowed to surface since his imprisonment. Zeeshan stated that even one image could serve as a rallying point for public opposition, which the government seeks to avoid at all costs.
