IIT Bombay Extends JAM 2026 Correction Deadline: Final Chance for Candidates to Edit Forms

IIT Bombay extends JAM 2026 application correction deadline to November 13 for key details.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced a crucial update for aspirants of the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026. The institute has extended the correction window for application edits until November 13, 2025, providing candidates additional time to rectify critical details such as category, name, date of birth, exam city, and paper choice. Earlier, the correction facility was scheduled to close on November 10.

Candidates who have successfully registered and paid the application fee for JAM 2026 can log in to the official JOAPS portal (joaps.iit.ac.in) to make the required modifications. Once logged in, applicants must carefully update the relevant information, verify the changes, and upload supporting documents wherever necessary. This provision ensures transparency and accuracy in the application process ahead of the exam.

According to IIT Bombay, the admit cards for JAM 2026 will be released on January 5, 2026. The examination serves as the gateway for admission into various postgraduate programs across India’s top science and technology institutions. Programs include MSc, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, MSc-MTech, and MS (Research), spanning disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biotechnology, geology, and mathematics.

For the 2026–27 academic session, more than 3,000 seats are available across 21 IITs, including Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee. Additionally, the JAM 2026 score will be accepted by several other premier institutions such as IISc Bangalore, NITs, IISERs, and DIAT, among others—making it one of the most competitive exams for science graduates in India.

With thousands of aspirants vying for limited seats, IIT Bombay’s decision to extend the correction window comes as a relief for candidates who need to ensure every detail in their form is accurate. The institute urges applicants to take full advantage of this extension, as no further editing window will be provided once the deadline passes.
