IGNOU Pushes July 2026 Admission Deadline to August 16

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for fresh admissions to the July 2026 academic session until August 16, 2026, for all notified programmes offered through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online modes. The extension provides prospective students, including working professionals, with additional time to complete their applications for a wide range of academic programmes. These include undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, postgraduate diploma and certificate courses offered by the university.

According to the university, candidates seeking admission to ODL programmes can submit their applications through the IGNOU Samarth ODL admission portal. Applicants interested in online programmes are required to register through the dedicated Samarth Online Programmes portal. The university has advised candidates to carefully review the eligibility criteria and programme-specific requirements before completing the application process.

The extended admission window is expected to benefit students who were unable to apply before the original deadline due to personal, academic or professional commitments.
