PM Modi: I’m Never Alone, God Is Always With Me
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a podcast with US-based podcaster Lex Fridman aired Sunday, said he never feels lonely, asserting, “I believe in the one plus one theory—one is Modi and other is the divine. I am never truly alone because God is always with me.”
He emphasized that serving 140 crore Indians is akin to serving God, rooted in his belief, “Jan Seva hi Prabhu Seva hai” (service to mankind is service to God).
Modi shared how Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of selfless service and Mahatma Gandhi’s mass mobilization shaped his life, alongside anecdotes from his time at Ramakrishna Paramahansa Ashram with Swami Atmasthananda, who reinforced his calling to societal welfare.
During the chat, Fridman recited the Gayatri Mantra, seeking Modi’s guidance on pronunciation. Modi corrected him, explaining its roots in “Surya Upasana” and its blend of spirituality and science. “Every mantra reflects aspects of life and the universe,” he said, highlighting India’s timeless wisdom. The over three-hour podcast offered a glimpse into Modi’s spiritual and leadership ethos.
