Hyderabad Cop Warns Against Lying Under Train for Viral Reel
Hyderabad man risks life by lying under moving train for viral reel, prompting top cop's warning against reckless stunts.
A video showing a man lying under a moving train in Hyderabad for the sake of a social media reel has gone viral, prompting strong reactions from authorities and the public. Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar condemned the act as “nothing but foolishness” and warned that even a split-second error could have led to certain death.
The clip shows the man waiting for the train to approach before flattening himself between the tracks, narrowly escaping fatal injury. After the train passed, he stood up unharmed and posed for the person recording, highlighting the extreme risks involved in such stunts aimed at online attention.
Commissioner Sajjanar emphasized that chasing virality through life-threatening acts is highly irresponsible. “Running behind virality may look heroic, but in reality, it is nothing but foolishness. A split-second mistake could cost lives. Be Responsible, Not Reckless,” he stated in an official social media post.

The video sparked outrage online, with many users calling for strict punishment. One suggested that such acts should be banned, while others urged the railway authorities to take legal action, emphasizing the danger it poses not only to the individual but also to others on the tracks.
This incident follows a series of similar dangerous trends across India. In Mau, police investigated a young man after recording a similar reel, and in January 2026, a group was condemned for placing logs on railway tracks to stop a Vande Bharat Express for a video. These stunts have triggered warnings from authorities nationwide.
Railway officials reiterated that such actions violate the Railways Act, 1989, and instructed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward life-threatening viral stunts. Authorities are urging social media users and influencers to prioritize safety over online fame.
