Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Chanakya Defence Dialogue in New Delhi on November 28, 2025, emphasizing how India's progress in strength, security, and development benefits the world. He highlighted that a stable India supports a stable global economy, with its digital public infrastructure serving as a model for inclusive governance adopted by many nations. Singh noted India's ethical leadership in emerging technologies like AI, cyber, and space, alongside commitments to peace, climate action, and humanitarian values, adding moral authority to international efforts.
To sustain this influence, the government pursues targeted reforms, including enhanced border and maritime infrastructure for security and connectivity. Military modernization involves new platforms, advanced technology, and streamlined procurement for speed and transparency. Through Atmanirbhar Bharat, India builds a defence industrial base that fosters innovation, bolsters industry, and cuts foreign dependencies, with investments in startups, deep-tech, and R&D shaping future battlefields.
Singh praised the armed forces as the cornerstone of national resilience, extending beyond borders to disaster relief, maritime protection, and global partnerships via exercises and peacekeeping. He stressed that reforms represent investments in India's future, ensuring soldier welfare remains paramount. Platforms like the Chanakya Defence Dialogue enable strategic reflection on topics such as resilient security, future warfare, and civil-military integration.
