Honey Trap Row: No Question of Protecting Anyone, Says Siddaramaiah

The scandal has raised serious concerns about political ethics and security in Karnataka.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made it clear that there is "no question of protecting anyone" in connection with the recent honey trap controversy that has rocked the state. The issue surfaced when Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna alleged that attempts were made to entrap him, and that over the past years, 48 legislators from various political parties had been targeted.

In response to the allegations, Siddaramaiah assured that the government is committed to upholding the law and ensuring justice. He emphasized that anyone found guilty should be punished, and there will be no effort to shield those involved. The controversy has led to heated debates in the Karnataka Assembly, with the opposition BJP demanding a judicial inquiry and claiming that legislators were being blackmailed through such traps.

Home Minister G. Parameshwara has stated that a high-level investigation will be initiated once a formal complaint is filed by Minister Rajanna. Meanwhile, the opposition has intensified its calls for strict action, even waving CDs in the Assembly as symbolic evidence of coercion and blackmail.

The scandal has raised serious concerns about political ethics and security in Karnataka. As the investigation unfolds, all eyes are on the state government to ensure transparency and accountability in handling the matter. Siddaramaiah has reiterated that justice will be served, and no one involved in such activities will be spared.
