Havoc in Agra! Mob Storms SP MP Ramji Lal Suman’s Residence, Clashes Erupt with Police

Karni Sena Storms SP MP Ramji Lal Suman’s Residence in Agra, Clashes Erupt with Police

Chaos unfolded in Agra today as hundreds of Karni Sena activists stormed the residence of Samajwadi Party (SP) Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman, protesting his controversial remarks about Rajput warrior Rana Sanga.

The confrontation escalated into violent clashes with police, leaving several officers injured and the MP’s property vandalized.

The unrest began around noon when Karni Sena members, some arriving with a bulldozer, gathered outside Suman’s Kuberpur home in the Hariparwat locality. Chanting “Jai Shri Ram” and enraged by Suman’s March 21 Rajya Sabha speech—where he called Rana Sanga a “traitor” who invited Mughal invader Babur to India—the activists breached barricades, pelted stones, and smashed vehicles.

At least ten cars, including a Tata Safari bearing a BJP flag, had their windshields shattered, while furniture and glass panes at the residence were destroyed.

Police, deployed since morning, attempted to hold back the mob but faced fierce resistance. A mild lathi-charge was used to disperse the crowd, resulting in injuries to multiple officers, including an inspector. “We’ve restored order and made a few arrests,” said Hariparwat SHO Alok Kumar, adding that CCTV footage is under review for an FIR.

Karni Sena’s youth wing chief, Okendra Rana, justified the attack, demanding Suman apologize at Rana Sanga’s memorial.

The SP labeled it a “BJP-sponsored” assault, a claim the BJP dismissed, citing public anger over Suman’s remarks. As tensions simmer, additional forces remain stationed to maintain peace in the area.
