Haryana’s Dayalu Scheme Delivers ₹76 Crore Aid

Saini announces financial relief for 2,020 families.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that ₹76 crore has been disbursed to 2,020 families under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana (Dayalu) scheme, providing crucial financial support to low-income households. The scheme, launched in April 2023, has delivered ₹1,380 crore to 36,651 families, offering up to ₹5 lakh for families earning less than ₹1.80 lakh annually in cases of a member’s death or permanent disability due to natural or accidental causes.

“Today, we transferred ₹76 crore directly into the bank accounts of 2,020 families,” Saini stated, highlighting the scheme’s role in uplifting vulnerable communities. The Dayalu initiative aims to provide a safety net for economically disadvantaged families, ensuring financial stability during times of crisis, such as accidental or natural deaths and permanent disabilities caused by accidents.

Saini also took the opportunity to honor former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his seventh death anniversary, praising his legacy of maintaining political decorum. “Vajpayee changed the meaning of politics, even as an opposition leader,” Saini remarked, urging Congress members to study Vajpayee’s biography for inspiration. The comment was a subtle jab at the opposition, amid ongoing political tensions in Haryana.
