Haryana Police 2026 Plan Targets Violent Offenders and Cybercrime with STF Watchlist

Haryana Police launches 2026 plan with STF tracking violent offenders, cybercrime, and drugs.

Haryana Police has rolled out an ambitious crime and internal security strategy for 2026, emphasizing enhanced surveillance of violent offenders, cybercrime prevention, narcotics control, and counter-terror measures. The plan was finalised at a high-level review chaired by DGP OP Singh at the Haryana Police Academy in Madhuban.

A key component involves the Special Task Force (STF) maintaining a live watchlist of 100 high-risk violent offenders statewide. Additionally, every district will keep at least 20 high-risk individuals under continuous monitoring, aimed at preventing contract killings, gang violence, and extortion rackets through early disruption of criminal planning.

The strategy also targets narcotics, with a focus on “commercial quantity” cases and improving conviction rates. Singh highlighted the transfer of de-addiction responsibilities to the Health Department, emphasizing stronger rehabilitation infrastructure and collaboration to ensure enforcement is complemented by accessible treatment, particularly for youth.

Cybercrime preparedness will be strengthened through improved district-level response mechanisms, enhanced evidence collection, and close monitoring of court proceedings in major cases. Singh noted the increasing sophistication of cybercriminals and instructed officers to stay proactive to prevent fraud and digital threats.

Internal security priorities include vigilance against terror sleeper cells and cross-border crime links, especially from Pakistan and Bangladesh. The DGP underscored strict adherence to law while monitoring suspicious movements, linking Haryana’s firm law enforcement to its image as a secure investment and talent hub.

Emphasizing the role of police stations as the backbone of public safety, Singh instructed SHOs to ensure visible policing, disrupt criminal activity before it occurs, and translate training into actionable results. Focused action across violent crime, cyber threats, narcotics, and cross-border security, Singh said, will keep Haryana safe while supporting the national development vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
