Haryana MLAs Push Hard on Jobs, Health and Infrastructure at Ongoing Budget Session

Haryana Assembly Question Hour covers infrastructure, employment, pension grievances and agricultural regulation plans.

Members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly raised several issues related to infrastructure, health services, and employment during the Question Hour of the ongoing Budget Session on Friday, prompting ministers to outline the government’s plans for development and welfare initiatives. The discussions took place in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who addressed the House as part of the session in Chandigarh.

One of the key topics discussed was the proposal to construct a new bus stand in Meham. Haryana’s Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar informed the House that the project would proceed once the district administration identifies and provides suitable land for the facility. He added that the general manager of Haryana State Transport in Rohtak has been instructed to coordinate with local authorities and recommend an appropriate site for the bus stand.

The Assembly also discussed employment-related initiatives for young people in the state. Legislators sought clarification on government measures aimed at encouraging industrial employment among youth. In response, ministers outlined subsidy programmes and support schemes designed to boost job opportunities and encourage industries to employ more local workers, particularly in manufacturing and service sectors.

Agriculture regulation and monitoring of farm-related businesses also came under scrutiny during the session. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi informed the House that agriculture officials conducted inspections of pesticide, fertiliser, and seed shops in Fatehabad district between January 1, 2025, and January 25, 2026. According to the data shared, authorities inspected 136 pesticide dealers, 148 fertiliser dealers, and 128 seed dealers to ensure compliance with regulations.

In addition to these matters, MLAs raised concerns regarding sports infrastructure, irrigation projects, and pension-related grievances in the state. Ministers responded by outlining plans to repair sports complexes, improve irrigation systems for farmers, and strengthen mechanisms for addressing pension-related complaints through dedicated grievance panels.

The Question Hour discussions reflected a wide range of governance issues being debated during the Budget Session, highlighting the legislature’s focus on development projects and public welfare programmes. With infrastructure expansion, agricultural oversight, and employment generation on the agenda, the Haryana government used the session to present updates on ongoing initiatives and future policy directions for the state.
