Haryana CM: Officers Face Demotion for Failing to Control Crime and Law & Order

Haryana CM warns officers of demotion for failing to control crime.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday reiterated the state government’s firm stance on law and order, warning that officers failing to control crime or the illegal drug trade will face accountability, including potential demotion. Speaking after a pre-Budget consultation meeting, Saini emphasized that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.

The Chief Minister highlighted that police officers, including Superintendents of Police and Station House Officers, must hold regular review meetings, investigate the root causes of crime, and implement effective solutions in their jurisdictions. He stressed that law enforcement is a responsibility that directly affects citizens’ safety, particularly for women and vulnerable groups.

Saini said that when residents lodge complaints about criminal activity or illegal operations in their areas, immediate and efficient action is expected from the police and administration. Officers must act swiftly to address public grievances to maintain trust and ensure a safe environment.

The Haryana CM also instructed authorities to intensify anti-crime and anti-drug campaigns across the state, promising that these measures will help provide both safety and good governance to residents. He reiterated that law and order is a top priority for the government.

On the budget front, Saini stated that the upcoming state Budget will focus on welfare for all sections of society. The process of formulation is inclusive, allowing participation from various stakeholders to ensure the allocation is both equitable and development-oriented.

Through these directives, the Chief Minister aims to strengthen accountability within the police force while promoting citizen safety and social welfare, signaling a zero-tolerance approach to crime and administrative inefficiency in Haryana.
