Gujarat Launches Regional Conferences for Inclusive Economic Growth
Gujarat CM introduces Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences to highlight local strengths and drive inclusive state growth.
Building on the international acclaim of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is steering the state toward a more localized growth model. The new initiative, Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRC), aims to showcase the distinct strengths and sectoral opportunities of each region, ensuring balanced economic development across Gujarat.
The first Saurashtra-Kutch edition of VGRC is scheduled in Rajkot from January 10 to 12, 2026. To promote this upcoming conference and attract international collaboration, the Gujarat government hosted a high-level dialogue in New Delhi on December 12. Diplomats and industry representatives from over 20 countries—including Russia, Canada, Israel, Singapore, the UAE, Finland, and South Africa—participated in discussions on cross-border investment opportunities.
The VGRC emphasizes its theme, “Regional Aspirations, Global Ambitions,” highlighting Gujarat’s focus on creating an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable economic ecosystem. Key sectors such as fisheries, ports, tourism, and the Dholera Special Investment Region were presented as prime opportunity zones, with detailed discussions on B2B prospects, partnership benefits, and logistical support for foreign investors.

Officials also spotlighted the success of North Gujarat’s first VGRC in Mehsana, which secured investment MoUs totaling Rs 3.24 lakh crore. Senior representatives from the Union DPIIT, Fisheries Department, Invest India, and Gujarat’s key departments—including Industries & Mines, Tourism, Maritime Board, and Dholera SIR—participated in the session, demonstrating strong government backing for regional growth.
Vibrant Gujarat, originally launched in 2003 to rebuild the state’s economy post the 2001 earthquake, has evolved into India’s most influential economic platform. Over the years, it has attracted global policymakers, CEOs, and heads of state, while expanding its focus to sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, logistics, and startups.
With the VGRC, Gujarat is now leveraging its global reputation to fuel regional development. The initiative promises to transform local strengths into globally competitive industries, positioning the state as a “Gateway to the Future” and a hub for sustainable, inclusive, and innovation-driven growth.
