Govt School Teacher Dies By Suicide in Vaishali, Investigation Underway
Priya Bharti, a 30-year-old teacher, allegedly died by suicide in Vaishali; a note cites illness, and police are investigating.
A 30-year-old government school teacher allegedly died by suicide at her rented home in Sehan village of Vaishali district, police said on Tuesday. The woman, identified as Priya Bharti, was the mother of a three-month-old daughter.
According to officials, Bharti was found unresponsive at her residence on Monday night. A handwritten note recovered from the scene stated that she was ending her life due to illness and that no one should be held responsible for her death. Police said the contents of the note are being examined as part of the investigation.
In the note, Bharti apologized to her parents and made several personal requests. She wrote that money owed for 5.5 litres of milk should be taken from her purse and also expressed a wish that her funeral rites be performed by her infant daughter rather than her husband.

Police said Bharti was working as a teacher at a government school and had been living in the rented accommodation in Sehan village. Preliminary inquiries have not indicated any external pressure or foul play, and the case is being treated as an alleged suicide based on the available evidence.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances leading up to her death. Officials said statements from family members and neighbours will be recorded to complete procedural formalities.
Authorities have reiterated the importance of seeking timely medical and mental support for those facing health or emotional distress. Police said more details would be shared once the investigation progresses.
