Goa’s Bold Plan to Revolutionize Travel: India’s First Air-Sea Tourism Hub Unveiled!

Goa unveils plan for India's first air-sea tourism hub, merging aviation and tourism sectors.

Goa is poised to redefine travel with a groundbreaking vision to merge its booming tourism and aviation sectors, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte announced at the Western Region Civil Aviation Ministers’ Conference in Mumbai last week. The coastal state is gearing up to create India’s first integrated air-sea tourism hub, leveraging the close proximity of Dabolim Airport and Vasco Cruise Terminal.

Speaking at the event, hosted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Khaunte declared, “Goa is ready with both infrastructure and intent. Aviation and tourism must grow together to drive jobs, regional integration, and global visibility.” He outlined ambitious proposals to align Goa’s vibrant tourism industry with its expanding aviation landscape, promising a future-ready, inclusive economy in partnership with the Central government.

The conference saw heavyweights like Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol, alongside representatives from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and the Union Territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Khaunte praised flagship initiatives like Dekho Apna Desh and Chalo India for boosting domestic and international tourism, positioning Goa as a prime beneficiary.
