Gen Alpha Students Protest In UP Over Delay In School Building Construction
UP students protest over delayed school building construction.
Gen Alpha students in Bhatpurwa Samuhi village along the Yamuna staged a peaceful protest outside their school over the long-pending construction of a school building. The students remained seated outside the premises and refused to attend classes, demanding that authorities take action on the issue.
The students reportedly decided not to leave the school premises until a concerned official arrived and assured them that a new building would be provided. Their protest reflected frustration over the lack of progress on the construction work. According to the information available, the issue had previously been brought to the attention of concerned officials through online platforms.
Despite these efforts, the students alleged that no visible action had been taken to address their demand. School principal Priyanka Tiwari repeatedly urged the children to return to their classrooms and resume their studies. However, the students remained firm in their decision and continued their peaceful demonstration outside the school.

Visuals from the protest showed a large number of students sitting together outside the school premises. Several children were also seen holding the national flag during the demonstration. The protest centred on their demand for basic educational infrastructure and a proper school building, highlighting concerns over the facilities available to students in the area.
The incident comes amid other instances of schoolchildren in Uttar Pradesh raising concerns over educational infrastructure and basic facilities. In Hamirpur, around 300 children had reportedly marched 6 km to the collectorate seeking a usable road to their school, while nearly 250 girls in Lucknow protested over teacher shortages and basic amenities. In Unnao, more than 200 students were also reported to have protested on the road over their concerns.
The Bhatpurwa Samuhi protest adds to these instances of students directly raising issues affecting their education. While the available information does not indicate any immediate resolution to the school-building demand, the students' demonstration has drawn attention to their concerns over the lack of adequate infrastructure. Further action from the concerned authorities is awaited.
