First CEO Appointment Process Begins At Ram Temple Trust, Applications Invited Till July 18
Ram Temple Trust begins search for first CEO.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which manages the affairs of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, has invited applications for the appointment of its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Trust announced the vacancy on Monday and has set July 18 as the deadline for interested candidates to submit their applications. The move is aimed at strengthening the administrative framework of the temple and ensuring more professional management of its expanding operations.
The Trust shared details of the CEO position through its official X handle, outlining the duties, responsibilities and eligibility criteria for applicants. The newly created role is expected to oversee key administrative functions, improve coordination between various departments and help manage the growing requirements of the temple complex. As the Ram temple attracts a large number of devotees from across the country and abroad, the Trust is looking for an experienced professional to handle its day-to-day management and long-term planning.
According to the details released by the Trust, candidates applying for the position must be between 50 and 70 years of age. The CEO will be appointed for an initial term of three years. The Trust has said preference will be given to individuals who have experience in managing large religious institutions, public administration organisations or corporate governance structures. Candidates are also expected to have a clean professional record and demonstrate commitment to the values and objectives associated with the temple.

The minimum educational qualification prescribed for the post is a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. In addition, applicants must have at least 20 years of managerial experience in a large public organisation, government department, institution or company. The criteria indicate that the Trust is seeking a candidate with significant leadership experience who can bring administrative expertise to the management of the temple and its associated activities.
The decision to appoint a CEO comes at a time when the Trust is looking to strengthen transparency and operational efficiency following a controversy over allegations of donation mismanagement. The Trust has been responsible for managing donations and overseeing the development of the temple complex, which has received significant public attention since the beginning of construction and subsequent opening activities. The creation of a dedicated executive position is seen as part of efforts to establish a more structured management system.
The Ram temple has become one of India's most significant religious and cultural landmarks following the Supreme Court's 2019 verdict resolving the decades-long Ayodhya land dispute. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was established after the verdict to oversee the construction, administration and maintenance of the temple complex. Since then, the Trust has managed various aspects of the project, including construction work, fundraising and coordination with government authorities.
The temple's opening has led to a major increase in visitor numbers, creating additional responsibilities related to crowd management, facilities, security coordination and services for devotees. A CEO with administrative experience could help streamline these operations and develop systems to handle future challenges as Ayodhya continues to emerge as a major religious tourism destination.
The appointment process is expected to attract applications from professionals with backgrounds in administration, governance and institutional management. Once the deadline closes, the Trust will evaluate candidates based on their qualifications, experience and suitability for the role. The selection of the first CEO will be closely watched as it marks a new phase in the organisational development of the Ram temple administration.
