FASTag Annual Pass Skyrockets to 5 Lakh Users in Just 4 Days!
FASTag Annual Pass hits 5 lakh users in 4 days.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced on Monday that its newly launched FASTag Annual Pass has surpassed an impressive 5 lakh users within just four days of its introduction on August 15. Priced at ₹3,000, the pass allows non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag to make up to 200 toll-free crossings or travel for one year, whichever comes first, across approximately 1,150 toll plazas on National Highways and Expressways.
The initiative has garnered an overwhelming response from highway users nationwide, with Tamil Nadu leading in pass purchases, followed closely by Karnataka and Haryana. The highest transaction volumes using the pass were recorded at toll plazas in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The pass, activated within two hours via the Rajmargyatra app or NHAI website, eliminates the need for frequent recharges, offering seamless and cost-effective travel.
This milestone underscores the growing preference for digital tolling solutions, with the FASTag system, boasting a 98% adoption rate and over 8 crore users, revolutionizing India’s electronic toll collection. The Annual Pass enhances commuter convenience, aligning with the government’s vision for efficient and technology-driven highway travel.
