Faridabad Man Kills Estranged Wife With Three Shots During Divorce Dispute

Man allegedly shoots estranged wife dead during argument outside her Faridabad home amid pending divorce case.

In a horrifying act of violence, a man from Bihar allegedly shot his estranged wife, Sangeeta Devi, to death outside her residence in Sunlight Colony, Basantpur village, Faridabad, on Friday night. The 30-year-old mother of two had been living separately from her husband and in-laws amid a pending divorce case in local court. Police confirmed the incident unfolded around 8:00 PM, triggered by a heated family confrontation.

The suspect arrived at Sangeeta's home with several in-laws, reportedly to discuss unresolved disputes. When they couldn't find her initially, they began to leave but spotted her returning down the street. An argument quickly erupted, with locals witnessing Sangeeta attempting to retreat and defend herself against the aggressive group.

In a brazen escalation, the husband pulled out a firearm and fired three shots at close range. Two bullets struck Sangeeta, causing her to collapse critically injured on the road. The gunfire alerted neighbors, who rushed out, forcing the accused and his relatives to flee the scene in panic.

Sangeeta's father arrived moments later and, with neighbors' help, rushed her to a private hospital in Sector 31. Tragically, doctors declared her dead on arrival due to severe injuries. Her body was sent for post-mortem examination as evidence in the ongoing investigation.

Inspector Satya Prakash, SHO of Palla police station, registered a murder case under relevant IPC sections. Teams have been deployed to apprehend the Bihar native, whose motive appears tied to matrimonial discord and divorce proceedings. CCTV footage and witness statements are being reviewed.

Authorities urge residents with information to come forward, emphasizing zero tolerance for domestic violence. This incident highlights rising concerns over family disputes turning deadly in the NCR region, with police vowing swift justice.
