Fadnavis Unveils High-Tech Police Station in Navi Mumbai

Modernized station promises faster, transparent services for citizens.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the state-of-the-art Sanpada police station in Navi Mumbai, marking a significant step toward modernizing law enforcement in the region. The new facility, equipped with advanced technology, aims to enhance police efficiency and strengthen public safety, setting a new standard for policing in Maharashtra.

During the ceremony, Fadnavis also presented the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification to four Navi Mumbai police stations—Sanpada, CBD Belapur, Vashi, and Panvel Taluka—for their commitment to quality, efficiency, and transparency. He emphasized that the upgraded infrastructure and systems will foster better communication between the police and the community, ensuring swift and effective responses to citizens’ needs.

“This cutting-edge Sanpada police station will empower our officers to deliver faster and more reliable services,” Fadnavis said. “These modern facilities will not only improve law enforcement but also build trust and safety for the people of Navi Mumbai.”

The event also saw the formal launch of several tech-driven initiatives, including the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) for streamlined daily operations, the e-Samvad online service for seamless public interaction, a dedicated cyber cell to combat digital crimes, and a financial crime (cy-fi) investigation cell to tackle economic offenses. These advancements position Navi Mumbai’s police force at the forefront of modern policing, addressing both traditional and emerging threats.

The new Sanpada police station boasts advanced surveillance systems, digital record-keeping, and ergonomic workspaces designed to enhance officer efficiency. The integration of CCTNS allows real-time tracking of criminal activities, while the cyber cell is equipped to handle the rising tide of online fraud and cyber threats. The e-Samvad platform enables citizens to file complaints, seek assistance, and engage with police services online, reducing response times and improving accessibility.

Fadnavis lauded the Navi Mumbai Police for their proactive approach, noting that the ISO certifications reflect their dedication to global standards of excellence. “These stations are setting a benchmark for others to follow,” he said, encouraging other jurisdictions to adopt similar innovations.

The inauguration was attended by prominent figures, including Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, PWD Minister Shivendrasinh Raje Bhosale, MLA Mandatai Mhatre, Director General of Police Archana Tyagi, and Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe. Senior officers highlighted the collaborative efforts behind the project, crediting the state government’s focus on upgrading infrastructure to meet the demands of a growing urban population.

Local residents expressed optimism about the new facility. “This is a game-changer for Navi Mumbai,” said Priya Deshmukh, a Sanpada resident. “With cybercrimes on the rise, having a dedicated cyber cell and online services makes us feel safer and more connected to the police.”

The revamped station is part of a broader initiative by the Maharashtra government to modernize police infrastructure across the state. Fadnavis reiterated his commitment to equipping law enforcement with the tools needed to address contemporary challenges, from cyber fraud to organized crime. “Our goal is to create a police force that is not only reactive but also proactive in ensuring public safety,” he added.

As Navi Mumbai continues to grow as a commercial and residential hub, the upgraded Sanpada police station is expected to play a pivotal role in maintaining law and order. With its blend of technology and community-focused services, the facility is poised to become a model for urban policing in India.
