European Union heads of mission met Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid during a luncheon interaction in New Delhi, where discussions focused on the strengthening EU–India strategic partnership and evolving global geopolitical developments.EU Ambassador to India Hervé Delphin said in a post on X that the meeting formed part of the bloc’s ongoing engagement with Indian political parties.

Relations between the two sides have gained renewed focus in recent months, with high-level engagements reinforcing cooperation across trade, technology, climate action, and security.A key development in bilateral ties has been the progress on the India–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), negotiations for which were formally concluded on January 27.
