Empowering Women: Shakti Kendra Focuses on Health, Prevention, and Early Detection
MP Deputy CM inaugurates Shakti Kendra, a holistic health centre addressing women’s physical, mental, and preventive care.
Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran Rajendra Shukla on Monday inaugurated the ‘Shakti Kendra,’ a One-Stop Comprehensive Women’s Health Centre at the Kailash Nath Katju hospital in Bhopal. Addressing a gathering of women, he said the state government is implementing special initiatives to ensure health security for women at every stage of life, from adolescence to motherhood.
During his visit, Deputy Chief Minister Shukla inspected the facility in detail and interacted with specialist physicians to evaluate the quality of services. He described the centre as an innovative initiative aimed at promoting awareness, wellness, and empowerment among women by providing modern and accessible healthcare under a single roof.
“A healthy woman forms the foundation of a healthy family and an empowered society,” Shukla said, emphasizing that Shakti Kendra would play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for women across the state. He also highlighted the steady increase in medical colleges and seats in Madhya Pradesh, a development expected to further strengthen healthcare services in the coming years.

Shukla noted that under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, Narendra Modi has expanded access to healthcare for the poor and vulnerable, ensuring financial constraints no longer prevent women from receiving necessary treatment.
Rachna Dubey, Health and State Nodal Officer Director, explained that Shakti Kendra—which stands for spreading health awareness knowledge through technology and innovation—offers holistic care, addressing both physical and mental well-being. She said the centre emphasizes early detection and prevention of diseases, including breast and cervical cancer, through screenings, thermography, and self-examination guidance.
The facility also provides advanced diagnostic services for conditions such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, thyroid disorders, diabetes, and hormonal imbalances. Women can access ultrasound services, menstrual irregularity treatment, weight management programs, nutritional counseling, yoga, and lifestyle consultations, making Shakti Kendra a comprehensive hub for women’s health in Madhya Pradesh.
