ED Raids Ex-CM Bhupesh Baghel’s Home in Major Liquor Scam Probe!
ED storms former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s residence in Bhilai, targeting his son Chaitanya in a high-stakes money laundering probe linked to a Rs 2,100 crore liquor scam.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a dramatic raid on Friday at the Bhilai residence of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, zeroing in on his son, Chaitanya Baghel, in a gripping money laundering investigation tied to an alleged liquor scam. The operation, conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), follows fresh evidence implicating Chaitanya in the scandal, officials revealed.
This isn’t the first time the ED has targeted Chaitanya; similar searches shook the Baghel household in March this year. The agency alleges Chaitanya was a key “recipient” of illicit funds from a liquor syndicate that siphoned off over Rs 2,100 crore, causing a massive loss to the state’s treasury.
The raids, coinciding with the final day of the assembly session, sparked a fiery response from Bhupesh Baghel, a senior Congress leader, who took to X to slam the ED’s timing. As the investigation deepens, the nation watches closely, awaiting further revelations in this high-profile case.
