Dense Fog Leads to Major Pile-Up on Greater Noida Expressway – Many Injured
Dense fog causes pile-up of over a dozen vehicles on Greater Noida expressway, several injured.
Early Saturday morning, a massive accident occurred on the Noida Expressway, involving more than a dozen vehicles, including cars and trucks. Dense fog across Delhi-NCR severely reduced visibility, contributing to the collision and causing panic among motorists. The incident led to a prolonged traffic jam, disrupting the morning commute.
The accident took place on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway), a 135 km six-lane highway connecting Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The expressway is a major transit route, and the collision caused significant delays and traffic congestion in both directions. Emergency teams rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
Visuals from the site show a white car mounted on the central divider with extensive damage to its bonnet, while a truck is parked nearby. Another vehicle appears trapped underneath a truck, highlighting the severity of the collision. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with smoke and debris scattered across the road.

Residents of Delhi-NCR reported waking up to unusually thick smog on Saturday, with visibility dropping sharply on major roads. Authorities have warned commuters to drive cautiously and follow traffic advisories as winter smog continues to affect the region.
Medical teams rushed the injured to nearby hospitals, and police appealed to drivers to maintain safe distances and reduce speed in foggy conditions. Officials are also reviewing CCTV footage and witness accounts to determine the exact cause of the pile-up and prevent similar incidents in the future.
