Delhi University Announces Final Undergraduate Examination Schedule for Current Academic Year
Delhi University releases the final UG exam schedule, including Sunday papers, to accommodate senior students' placement timelines.
Delhi University has released the final schedule for its undergraduate examinations after revising the earlier date sheet amid confusion and complaints from students. The updated schedule includes some examinations being conducted on Sundays, a move officials said was necessary to ensure timely completion of the examination process.
University authorities explained that the revised timetable was prepared to help senior students complete their exams earlier, especially those appearing for semester six and semester eight papers. This year also marks the first time Delhi University will conduct eighth-semester examinations following the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the introduction of a four-year undergraduate programme.
DU Controller of Examinations Gurpreet Singh Tuteja said the university generally goes through multiple drafts before finalising the examination schedule. He explained that changes were made after considering that final-year students may also need to appear for competitive examinations, job interviews and placement opportunities during the same period.

According to university officials, the revised schedule aims to reduce clashes and provide more flexibility for graduating students. The administration also defended the inclusion of Sunday examinations, saying it was part of efforts to streamline the overall timetable and complete exams within the academic calendar.
The final examination schedule has now been made available by the university, bringing some clarity after earlier concerns raised by students over overlapping dates and sudden changes in the timetable. The revised plan is expected to help ensure smoother conduct of the upcoming undergraduate examinations.
