Delhi Police Seize Heroin Worth Rs 12 Crore, Five Arrested in Major Crackdown

Five arrested in major crackdown on Delhi's drug network.

Delhi Police arrested five alleged drug peddlers and seized 3.1 kilograms of heroin, valued at approximately Rs 12 crore, in outer north Delhi on September 17, 2025. The operation, described as a sustained effort to dismantle drug trafficking networks, underscores the police's commitment to curbing the illegal drug trade in the city.

According to a senior police official, the arrests followed weeks of intelligence-gathering and surveillance targeting key players in the narcotics supply chain. The seized heroin, with a street value of nearly Rs 12 crore, represents one of the largest drug hauls in the region this year. The five individuals, suspected of being part of an organized drug peddling ring, were apprehended during a meticulously planned raid in the early hours of Wednesday.

The police have not disclosed the identities of the suspects, citing ongoing investigations. However, they confirmed that the group was involved in distributing large quantities of heroin across Delhi and neighboring areas. The operation is part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking, which has seen a rise in recent years, posing a significant threat to public safety and youth in the capital.

This major bust comes amid growing concerns over the increasing availability of narcotics in urban centers. The Delhi Police’s success in this operation sends a strong message to drug traffickers, signaling that law enforcement is stepping up its fight against the illegal drug trade.
