Delhi Govt Reports 75% File Processing Online After One Year Of E-Office
Delhi govt digitises most file processing through e-office system.
The Delhi government has reported that more than 75 per cent of its official work is now being processed through the e-Office system, marking a significant milestone as the digital file management platform completes nearly one year of implementation on July 1. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the system has improved efficiency, transparency and accountability in government functioning.
According to official data shared by the Chief Minister, the adoption of the e-Office system has expanded steadily since April 13. Out of 132 government departments, around 120 departments—nearly 91 per cent—are now actively using the platform for daily administrative work. The system has also been extended to a growing number of public sector undertakings and autonomous bodies.
The government stated that 36 out of 55 public sector undertakings, boards, corporations, commissions, committees and local bodies—about 65.5 per cent—are currently using the e-Office platform. In the education sector, 21 out of 48 universities, colleges and institutions, or around 43.8 per cent, have also adopted the system for administrative processes.

Overall, the Chief Minister said that 177 out of 235 departments and offices, accounting for approximately 75.3 per cent, are now handling file movement, correspondence and approvals digitally. She added that the shift from paper-based files to online processing has significantly reduced delays and improved the speed of decision-making.
Officials said the e-Office system has made it easier to track file movement and identify responsible officers at each stage of processing. It has also strengthened record-keeping, reduced administrative bottlenecks and enabled smoother coordination between departments, thereby improving the delivery of public services.
The government further said that 15,748 officers and employees are currently using the system across various departments. The e-Office platform has been structured into three categories to suit different institutions, including government departments, public sector bodies and educational institutions. Its use has been made mandatory across all Delhi government departments from July 1, 2025, as part of the broader push toward digital governance.
