Delhi Drenched: Rains Trigger Waterlogging Chaos

City braces for more showers, traffic snarls

Heavy rainfall battered Delhi on Tuesday morning, causing waterlogging in parts of south and southwest Delhi, disrupting daily life. The India Meteorological Department forecasts more showers throughout the day, urging residents to stay prepared.

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 26°C, typical for the season, with the maximum expected to reach 35°C. High humidity levels, at 83% by 8:30 a.m., added to the discomfort. Despite the downpour, Delhi’s air quality remained moderate, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 103, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The CPCB classifies AQI from 101-200 as “moderate,” posing minimal health risks.

Waterlogged streets in key areas have led to traffic snarls, with commuters advised to avoid affected zones. Authorities are working to clear drainage systems to mitigate further disruptions.
