Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, accompanied by six BJP Cabinet Ministers, arrived in Amritsar on Monday to offer prayers at the Golden Temple as part of the 350th commemorative observances. Their arrival at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport was marked by tight security, with BJP workers greeting the delegation with flower bouquets, garlands, and chants of welcome.
Prior to their visit, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared images from inside the aircraft, capturing the group—including Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Misgra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh—en route from Delhi. Sirsa expressed gratitude for being part of the sacred journey, writing on X that they were heading to offer Ardas and Shukrana for the successful conduct of the 350th commemorative events, praying for Waheguru’s blessings and welfare for all.
Upon landing, Gupta and her ministers proceeded directly to the Golden Temple. They bowed their heads, offered prayers, and spent time inside the sanctum, paying their respects at one of Sikhism’s holiest shrines. In her post on X, Gupta expressed deep reverence for Amritsar, calling it “the sacred land” and thanking Guru Sahib for granting them the privilege of service during the 350th martyrdom commemorations of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji at the Red Fort.

In another message, the Delhi Chief Minister shared her personal sense of peace after the visit. “After bowing my head at Sri Harmandir Sahib, my mind found satisfaction,” she wrote, adding a heartfelt prayer for Waheguru’s continued grace on everyone. Her words reflected the spiritual significance the visit held for the entire delegation.
Sirsa also shared his reflections on X, describing the Golden Temple as the “Home of Purity” and expressing the immense tranquillity he experienced during the visit. He highlighted the timeless spiritual presence felt within the shrine, emphasizing its profound impact on the mind and soul.
To ensure a smooth and secure visit, authorities significantly ramped up security around the Golden Temple and surrounding areas. The increased vigilance facilitated an uninterrupted pilgrimage for the delegation, while thousands of devotees continued to gather as part of the ongoing 350th commemorations.
