Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Launches EV Subsidy Portal, Details Process
Delhi launches digital portal for electric vehicle subsidy applications.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched a dedicated online portal allowing eligible electric vehicle buyers to apply for subsidies under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2026. The portal was introduced two days after the rollout of the new policy and is intended to make the subsidy process simple, transparent and completely digital. The Chief Minister also unveiled the official booklet outlining the provisions of the new EV policy.
Eligible beneficiaries can apply for the subsidy within 30 days of purchasing an electric vehicle and receiving its Registration Certificate. The government aims to transfer the approved incentive directly into the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer within 60 days. Applicants can complete the process from home and track the progress of their application online at every stage.
The portal has three main sections: “How to Apply,” “Apply Online” and “Application Status.” Individual vehicle owners must enter their Aadhaar number, date of birth and gender before uploading scanned PDF copies of the Registration Certificate, Aadhaar card, voter ID and either a bank passbook or cancelled cheque. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with the vehicle’s Registration Certificate for verification.

Once the application is approved, the subsidy will be transferred directly to the applicant’s Aadhaar-linked bank account. Vehicle owners seeking an additional scrapping incentive must also upload a certificate of deposit. Businesses applying for subsidies on commercial electric vehicles are required to submit copies of the Registration Certificate, PAN card and GST document, along with bank account details and the relevant IFSC code.
Applicants can check the progress of their claim through the “Application Status” section by entering the vehicle registration number and the last five digits of the chassis number. If authorities require additional documents or corrections, the applicant will receive a notification. Vehicle owners can then upload the required documents through the portal to resume the verification and approval process.
The portal also provides a list of 123 electric vehicle models approved for benefits under the policy, covering two-wheelers, three-wheelers and trucks. The list includes models from manufacturers such as TVS, Ather Energy, Bajaj and Mahindra. The Delhi government said the digital system is designed to reduce paperwork, improve transparency and help eligible residents and institutions access electric vehicle incentives without visiting government offices.
