Delhi Airport Introduces Online Arrival Card for Foreigners Starting Oct 1
Foreigners can now submit arrival info online at Delhi Airport via E-Arrival Card from Oct 1.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi will introduce an E-Arrival Card facility for foreign travelers, revolutionizing the arrival process by replacing manual paper-based forms with a seamless online platform. Announced by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) on September 30, this initiative, launched under the Bureau of Immigration, aims to enhance efficiency, reduce immigration queues, and align with the airport’s sustainability goals by minimizing paper usage. The system mirrors similar digital arrival processes already in place at airports in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, and Malaysia.
The E-Arrival Card allows international passengers to submit their arrival information digitally up to three days before their journey, streamlining the immigration process upon landing. This user-friendly platform is designed to save time, reduce congestion at immigration counters, and provide a more convenient experience for travelers. By digitizing a traditionally cumbersome process, DIAL expects to significantly improve throughput at one of India’s busiest airports, which handles millions of passengers annually.
This initiative builds on Delhi’s recent advancements in modernizing its immigration systems. In June 2024, the airport launched India’s first "Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme" (FTI-TTP) for Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders, demonstrating a commitment to leveraging technology for smoother travel. The E-Arrival Card extends these efforts to international visitors, reinforcing Delhi’s position as a forward-thinking aviation hub focused on passenger convenience and operational efficiency.

DIAL emphasized that the E-Arrival Card facility supports the airport’s broader environmental objectives by cutting down on paper waste, aligning with global trends toward sustainable travel practices. As the system rolls out, travelers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the online platform to ensure a hassle-free arrival experience. With this launch, Delhi airport continues to set benchmarks in enhancing traveler experience while addressing modern aviation challenges.
The introduction of the E-Arrival Card marks a significant step in modernizing India’s aviation infrastructure, promising a more efficient and eco-friendly entry process for international visitors. As Delhi airport prepares to implement this system, it is poised to enhance its reputation as a global gateway, catering to the growing influx of travelers with cutting-edge technology and a commitment to sustainability.
