Dazzling in Gold: Lord Jagannath's 'Suna Besha' to Shine with 208 kg of Ornaments at Rath Yatra

The grandeur of the annual Rath Yatra festival in Puri will reach its peak today as Lord Jagannath, along with Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, are adorned with a staggering 208 kg of gold ornaments for the revered 'Suna Besha' ritual. This iconic ceremony, held on the chariots, is a highlight of the festival, drawing thousands of devotees to witness the deities in their resplendent glory.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced that the 'Suna Besha' will take place on Sunday evening, with devotees able to view the divine spectacle from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM. According to temple authorities, the deities will be embellished with approximately 30 unique designs of ornaments, crafted from gold, silver, diamonds, and other precious metals, showcasing intricate artistry and spiritual significance.
