A tragic road accident in North Goa has left a young hotel employee dead and her colleague critically injured after a speeding luxury car allegedly driven by a businessman's son rammed into their motorcycle late on Sunday night. The deceased, 23-year-old Diksha Parwadkar, who was riding pillion, was declared dead on arrival at a private hospital. Her colleague, 26-year-old D Arunkumar, sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition, undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The alleged driver, 22-year-old Darius Dias, was arrested by Panaji police on Monday. According to authorities, Dias was driving a Mini Cooper with a temporary number plate, which is typically installed before formal registration with the Regional Transport Office. Police said the collision occurred in the Dona Paula area, a busy locality in North Goa, and the motorcycle was hit with such force that both riders were thrown from the vehicle.

Both victims were returning home after completing their night shift at a five-star hotel. Eyewitnesses said the Mini Cooper was moving at a high speed, and the impact left the motorcycle badly damaged. The local community has expressed shock and grief over the incident, with residents calling for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and road safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
