C.P. Radhakrishnan To Visit Kerala For Two Days Amid Enhanced Security

Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan's two-day visit to Kerala, beginning Sunday, will be accompanied by enhanced security arrangements across the state, with special attention to the state capital and other locations included in his itinerary. Police have planned security measures covering his movements, venues and travel routes during the visit.

Radhakrishnan will arrive in Kerala on Sunday and attend several programmes across the state. His schedule includes the 115th anniversary celebrations of Kerala Kaumudi in Alappuzha, followed by a visit to Pathanamthitta to inaugurate the Aranmula Water Festival. He will then travel to Thiruvananthapuram, where he is scheduled to flag off the Onam Pageantry.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Radhakrishnan will also be the chief guest at the state government's Onam valedictory event. His participation comes as Kerala's week-long Onam Tourism Week celebrations draw to a close, adding a national-level dignitary to the concluding programmes.

Police have made elaborate arrangements covering the Vice-President's movements, with particular attention to the airport, official venues and connecting routes. Parking restrictions have also been imposed along several key roads, and vehicles found parked on restricted stretches during specified hours will be removed using recovery vehicles. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the security measures.

Passengers travelling to Thampanoor and Kochuveli railway stations, as well as the international and domestic airports, have been advised to plan their journeys in advance. The security arrangements are expected to remain in place as the Vice-President's itinerary spans multiple locations, requiring coordination between authorities at venues and along travel routes.

The programme will also extend beyond Kerala, with Radhakrishnan scheduled to travel to Agatti Island in Lakshadweep on August 31 for a fisheries outreach programme. He is also scheduled to return to Kochi later in the day to attend the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology and the Confluence 3.0 Summit. The multi-location itinerary has prompted authorities to maintain heightened security throughout his scheduled movements.
