Senior Congress Leaders, led by Party President Mallikarjun Kharge, former President Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, gathered at Shakti Sthal in the national capital to pay respectful floral tributes to India’s first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, on her 108th birth anniversary observed on November 19.
In an emotional social media post written in Hindi, Rahul Gandhi shared a rare personal insight, stating that the courage to take bold and fearless decisions for the country and to always prioritise national interest came directly from his grandmother. He declared that Indira Gandhi’s extraordinary patriotism, moral strength, and unyielding stand against injustice continue to be the driving force behind his own political journey and public life.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge described her leadership as exemplary and dynamic, marked by immense political courage and an unwavering commitment to public service. He saluted her supreme sacrifice for safeguarding India’s unity and integrity, asserting that her contributions have left an everlasting imprint on the nation’s progress and will inspire generations to come.
