Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge Rushed to Hospital

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge admitted for urgent medical care.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was urgently admitted to MS Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday after falling ill, party sources confirmed. The 83-year-old veteran leader, who serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, sought medical attention due to a sudden onset of fever and complaints of severe leg pain.

According to hospital insiders, Kharge is undergoing comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment. Doctors are closely monitoring his condition, with initial reports suggesting the symptoms may be linked to an infection or fatigue from his rigorous political engagements. "He is stable now, and there’s no cause for alarm. The medical team is taking all necessary precautions to ensure his swift recovery," a senior Congress leader told PTI, requesting anonymity.

Kharge, a prominent figure in Indian politics, has been at the forefront of the Congress party’s efforts to strengthen its position ahead of crucial state and national elections. His sudden hospitalisation has sparked concern among party workers and supporters, who are anxiously awaiting further updates on his health.

A close aide to Kharge revealed that the leader had been managing a packed schedule, including meetings and rallies, which may have contributed to his condition. "He’s been working tirelessly for the party. We’re hopeful he’ll be back in action soon," the aide added.

The Congress party has not yet issued an official statement, but sources indicate that senior leaders are in touch with the hospital for regular updates. Meanwhile, supporters have taken to social media, expressing their concern and wishing for Kharge’s speedy recovery.

As the nation watches, all eyes are on MS Ramaiah Hospital, where doctors continue to monitor the veteran leader’s health. Further details on his condition are expected to be released later today.
