CM Vijay's TVK-Led Alliance Officially Named 'Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance'
CPI(M), CPI skip meeting as alliance structure gets finalised
Tamil Nadu's ruling alliance led by Chief Minister Vijay's TVK has been formally named the Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance. The name was announced after an alliance partners' meeting chaired by Vijay at the TVK headquarters in Panaiyur. The meeting focused on formalising the structure of the coalition and settling key issues following the formation of the government after the State elections.
Vijay will serve as the president of the alliance, according to Tamil Nadu Congress unit chief B Manickam Tagore. The alliance is expected to work together in the upcoming bypolls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Tagore said the partners would work collectively under the alliance, signalling an effort to maintain coordination among the parties that have joined the ruling coalition.
The meeting was described as the second major gathering of the alliance since the post-poll coalition came together to form the government. Discussions reportedly focused on establishing the formal structure of the combine and giving it an official identity. The decision to adopt the new name marks another step in organising the coalition as its constituent parties prepare for future electoral contests.

However, the meeting at the TVK headquarters was not attended by leaders of the Left parties, including the CPI(M) and CPI. Both parties support the government but stayed away from the gathering. Their absence comes as the alliance works to establish its organisational framework and coordinate the roles of its participating parties.
Several leaders from the alliance attended the meeting, including representatives of the Congress and other partners. The discussions are expected to help define how the coalition will function ahead of the forthcoming bypolls. With Vijay taking the formal leadership role, the alliance will now operate under the newly announced name as its partners work towards a coordinated electoral strategy.
The Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance therefore becomes the formal identity of Vijay's ruling coalition in Tamil Nadu. The alliance's immediate electoral focus will be the upcoming bypolls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, while its partners continue discussions on coordination and organisational arrangements. The new name and Vijay's appointment as president provide the coalition with a clearer structure as it moves into its next phase of political activity.
