CM Rekha Gupta Credits BJP’s Delhi Victory to Workers’ Efforts, PM Modi’s Vision

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attributed the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) triumphant return to power in the capital after 27 years to the unwavering commitment of party workers and the inspirational guarantees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at the launch of a commemorative book, Gupta emphasised collective effort over individual glory while cautioning against complacent rivals who disregard ethics. This narrative not only celebrates a political milestone but also reinforces the BJP's strategy of grassroots mobilisation and visionary leadership, potentially setting a template for future campaigns amid India's evolving electoral landscape and urban governance challenges.

During the event, Gupta unveiled 'BJP Delhi Win – Modi's Guarantee', authored by Delhi unit Mahila Morcha chief Richa Pandey, which chronicles the party's journey to victory in the February Assembly polls. The BJP decisively outperformed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which had governed since 2015, securing 48 out of 70 seats. Gupta, who clinched the Shalimar Bagh constituency after losses in 2015 and 2020, praised the resilience of thousands of workers who persevered through setbacks, handling tasks from minor to major with full devotion.

"The call of Prime Minister Modi instilled confidence in the people of Delhi, and this victory has proven that hard work, organisation, and honesty always succeed," she stated. Addressing the audience as a fellow party worker rather than chief minister, Gupta highlighted that the government stems from workers' dedication and public trust in Modi's vision, encapsulating the book's core message. She urged the party to elevate Delhi to the aspirations outlined by the prime minister while warning workers to remain vigilant against adversaries indifferent to decorum.

The launch was attended by prominent BJP figures, including national general secretary Tarun Chugh, national secretary Alka Gujjar, state president Virendra Sachdeva, and Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra. This event underscores the BJP's focus on narrative-building through publications, aiming to sustain momentum in a competitive political arena where voter sentiment increasingly hinges on performance and ideology.
