CM Mohan Yadav Lists Naxal-Free MP and Ken-Betwa as Biggest Wins in 2 Years
Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav marks 2 years, highlights Naxal-free state and Ken-Betwa project as top achievements.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday marked the completion of two years in office, citing the elimination of Naxal influence and the progress of the Ken-Betwa river linking project as his government’s most significant achievements. Addressing the media in Bhopal, he highlighted that strengthening law and order, curbing corruption, and accelerating development have been key priorities during his tenure. Dr. Yadav emphasized that public-centric governance remains central to his administration’s approach.
Reflecting on the history of Naxalism in the state, Dr. Yadav recounted how small gangs first emerged in Mandla, Dindauri, and Balaghat in the late 1980s, escalating to violent incidents including the killing of a cabinet minister. He praised the security forces for their efforts in the past two years, noting that 42 Maoists surrendered and 10 hardcore Naxals were neutralized, declaring Madhya Pradesh effectively Naxal-free.
The Ken-Betwa river linking project and the revival of the Kshipra river ahead of the next Simhastha festival were highlighted as transformative initiatives. Dr. Yadav announced a Rs 800-crore project to ensure pure, perennial Kshipra water for devotees, along with a Rs 2,005-crore allocation for Simhastha 2028. He also emphasized the launch of the PM MITRA Park in Dhar and the allocation of land to new industries, reflecting the state’s industrial development drive.

Focusing on welfare, Dr. Yadav detailed the government’s investments in tribal and economically weaker communities. Tribal welfare received Rs 40,804 crore—23.4% more than the previous budget—while initiatives under PM Janman Yojana, crop loans, insurance payouts, and disaster relief have strengthened farmers’ livelihoods. Women entrepreneurs and health services also received a boost, with new medical units, recruitment, and reservation policies aimed at empowering marginalized sections.
On infrastructure and economic growth, the CM highlighted projects including five new airports, Indore Metro, rail coach manufacturing in Raisen, and Ratapani Sanctuary as a Tiger Reserve. Investments totaling Rs 8.57 lakh crore have been attracted, creating opportunities for 23 lakh jobs, with 881 industrial units allocated land, 141 of which have already commenced operations. Initiatives in natural farming, solar power, and religious tourism were also emphasized.
Dr. Yadav concluded by reaffirming his government’s commitment to making Madhya Pradesh poverty-free under the Garib Kalyan Mission and fully Naxal-free by January 2026. He said, “This is a joyful occasion, but the journey continues. Our focus remains on serving the people with dedication, vision, and inclusive development.”
